SMART Cafè in Finland: Smart specialisation in Tampere Region

The SMART EUROPE Café was organised in the new Scandic Hotel Station on 15th of June. The stakeholders were gathered together to engage them in upcoming project activities. The topic of the meeting was "Smart specialisation in Tampere Region".

The meeting was able to gather together representatives from the main stakeholders in the area representing the regional development agency, regional economic development agency and the education sector.

The topic of the meeting "Smart specialisation in Tampere Region" was widely discussed.  Petri Räsänen, Director of Innovation and Foresight from the Council of Tampere Region, gave a presentation about the preparation of the regional smart specialisation strategy in Tampere Region and background to this strategy work. The strategy is still under work and need some decisions how to tackle the issue and what to focus on.

SMART EUROPE project will be a good tool to tackle the job-creation problem in innovation sectors. The project will work together with other innovation related projects and events.
