Recommendations for... Flevoland!

Cover image:

The peer review in Flevoland took place from 1 – 5 October 2012 and focused on the question how to develop the -relatively new- clusters in Flevoland and thus create more innovation based jobs. The peer team was composed of experts from the region of Sor-Trondelag (No), Maramures (Ro), Mid Sweden, Manchester (UK), Veneto (It) and the Assembly of European Regions.

Since Flevoland has a young economy that very much relies on small and medium enterprises (SME’s) one of the main recommendations of the peer team was to cherish our SME’s and to re-evaluate the support system for them. Other recommendations were to create an open innovation area, to establish more strategic partnerships, both nationally and internationally and to build upon our successes, like the world class agriculture.

Part of the recommendations are already integrated in the new Economic Agenda for Flevoland.
